A reasonable suspicion
No. The AI work sits on top of an older systems habit.
Before agentic systems, the work already involved full-stack software, APIs, distributed workflows, cloud infrastructure, automation, customer constraints and production failures. AI became another material to design with—not a replacement personality.
The interesting part is recognizing when a capability boundary has moved, then testing whether that creates a useful product. t0rque is the clearest example: it began with a real operational constraint, not a search for somewhere to put an LLM.
Emerging technology deserves curiosity. It also deserves adult supervision.
